Reflections - Main Menu Theme
Below is a quick visual collage and a glimpse into how this video was made, documented for posterity's sake.
This project started off with a piano piece from my portfolio, which you can find below. I felt like it needed more in order to make it interesting enough on Youtube. After changing the instruments around so much, I had the idea it would change genres mid-song. After writing down ideas, the piece evolved more then I could have ever anticipated for such a simple personal project.
Almost all of the visuals are a mixture of a Dalle-2 image and photoshop in order to make it fit. Those that are not based on AI images were made using stock photos.
A small selection of the screens photoshopped. In order to save file space and apply filters evenly, many layers were flattened. The final section of the video reuses many previous screens, but put through kaleidoscope filters or color correction.
The video editor used was partially out of convince and partly a self-imposed challenge. The video had 2 editing passes: once for all the pictures, then a second time for music and more complicated effects.
After the visuals were created, research was conducted on which sounds would be used for glitches and sputters. A written list was created for reference, for completing or adjusting the timing of each section in the music.
In between each step, the music was tweaked. The final section of the music wasn't written until the visuals were completely finalized
